Acrylic Trove
Care GuideAcrylic Trove · Vol. I

Treat acrylic well and
it'll outlast you.

A short guide to keeping your case optically perfect. None of it is complicated — but the wrong product can ruin a 5 mm acrylic panel in seconds.

— Plate Nº 002The Routine
  1. I

    Routine · Weekly

    Microfiber and distilled water.

Dust accumulates faster than scratches. Use a clean microfiber cloth, lightly damp with distilled water. Wipe in straight lines, not circles. That's the entire routine.

Every case ships with a microfiber cloth. Retire it when it starts to feel gritty.

  2. II

    Routine · Deep

Twice a year, an acrylic-safe cleaner.

When fingerprints stop lifting with water, apply a small amount of an ammonia-free acrylic-safe cleaner to the cloth. Never spray directly on the case. Wipe gently. Buff dry with a second clean microfiber.

We recommend Novus #1 (cleans + reduces static) or Brillianize. Both safe for cast acrylic.

  3. III

    Storage

    Out of direct sunlight.

Display out of direct sunlight when possible. Even UV-filtering acrylic blocks 99%, not 100%; over a decade, that last 1% matters for colored-ink stability on the sealed box artwork inside.

Keep ambient humidity moderate. Acrylic itself is unaffected; the cardboard inside isn't.

  4. IV

    Minor scratches

    Novus #2, then #1.

For light scratches, Novus #2 (fine scratch remover) applied with firm pressure in straight lines, finished with Novus #1. For deep scratches in a featured edition, don't attempt it yourself.

— Plate Nº 003Quick reference

Two short lists. Tape them up.

Do

  • Clean microfiber, lightly damp with distilled water
  • Wipe in straight lines
  • Acrylic-safe cleaner (Novus #1 / Brillianize) for deep cleans
  • Apply cleaner to the cloth — never directly to the case

Don’t

  • Glass cleaners with ammonia (Windex). These cause clouding.
  • Paper towels. The cellulose fibers scratch.
  • Rough sponges, scouring pads, or any abrasive.
  • Acetone, alcohol, or any solvent-based product.
